Got My Sprint PCS VisionSM Smart Device PPC-6700!

I'd been wanting a SmartPhone/PDA Phone for years, and I finally got one last week. Is it wicked to mention that I used some of the money I was saving for my UMPC (I'm still planning to get one)? At any rate, I wanted to at least post the unboxing pics I took, but I intend to post more later (not a review, though, as I've discovered this week that there are tons of raving reviews about this device!). The photo quality, as usual (for me) is awful, but at least you see why I wanted a new phone with a camera.

Want a real treat? Check out the video overview of the Verizon PPC-6700 (same thing, but perhaps more stylish with a black faceplate) by jkOnTheRun's Kevin Tofel. I'd been closeted with mine for days before watching it, and I still learned something. In fact, just check out everything Kevin's posting about the little wonder. Kevin had me drooling during his video review of the Sena case (despite the fact that I don't even like that it covers the sync and headset ports), and his info about the update software that gives the PDA Phone a little push is so timely it hurts...but in a good way. Thanks, Kevin, really!

By contrast, the Cingular 8125 I set up didn't come with a cradle or AC adapter, I was reminded by my user. That's a little weird, I think.

I'm interested in hearing how the phone works for you over the next couple of weeks. What type of plan do you have? Can you use the phone as an EVDO modem for other devices?

You're right as always, Kevin! I'm freaking ecstatic!

Fred, I fought with this thing all evening, and now I'm posting from a Motion LE1600 using the 6700 as a USB modem. I am in technology seventh heaven right now!

I have the $35.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan and Power Vision, by the way.
