Dropped Your Motorcycle? Here's How to Pick it Up!

I wish I'd been told about this three days ago, when I got my motorcycle. I'm delighted that my co-worker told me to hunt for this info on YouTube today, though! I wonder if they'll mention it in the motorcycle safety class I'll be taking this weekend.

So was this mentioned in your safety class? Have you dropped it since?

Hi! No, that technique wasn't mentioned in the safety class. As far as dropping it, I did worse immediately after returning from the class. I was re-familiarizing myself with my bike (since the class uses manual transmission bikes, and mine's an automatic), and, despite my repeated admonitions to myself to remember that my left lever is a rear brake and NOT a clutch, I automatically reached for it at about my fourth turn/curve. Fortunately, I was in a cul-de-sac and going slow. I now know how well that tip works, and I often recall the novel, "Red Badge of Courage." I get compliments on my new helmet, too!
